Western Bushcraft Skills is an outdoor activity provider specialising in Bushcraft & Survival Skills courses. We specialise in teaching amazing new skills and providing the knowledge for you to live in the wild. You’ll get to try out lots of new activities and share ideas whilst having a serious amount of fun! We run courses throughout Ireland upon request, but predominantly from our woodland site on the grounds of Cregg Castle, Co. Galway.
We offer an extensive range of affordable Bushcraft & Survival Skills courses such as Fire Lighting, Wilderness Cookery, Shelter building, Cutting Tools, Whittling & Carving, Rope making, Trapping & Tracking skills, Archery & many more.

All our courses are ran by experienced outdoor Instructors highly certified in
First Aid and Child protection. Steven Lenihan, Lead instructor & founder of Western Bushcraft Skills has been brought up in an outdoor environment from an early age.
Our mission includes the promotion of the great outdoors by providing fun outdoor experiences for children, adults and youth groups. We aim to provide real outdoor adventure courses & camps at our base & across the country.
Cregg Castle is 16th Century Kirwin Family built castle, located just 25 minutes drive from Galway City Centre, near the village of Corrandulla, Co. Galway. It is surrounded by 95 acres of mixed ancient woodland, lush with beech, oak, hazel, ash and hawthorn trees and a mixture of pine. It provides a wonderful, private woodland experience for those who attend our courses.
We run a private and secure camping area with private carparking on site,
eco-friendly outdoor loo's & dry gear storage areas.
